The versatile sausage link can be cooked in the casing or removed from it and crumbled, like in this recipe.
- 1 ½ lbs Italian sausage
- Remove sausage meat from casings.
- In a large nonstick skillet, cook sausage on medium-high 10–12 min., until sausage is browned and crumbled, using a spatula to break up meat.
- With a slotted spoon, transfer sausage from skillet, discarding any rendered fat.
